Don't Try To Time The Market
Q: Is this a good time to buy?
A: It really depends on how "you" define good. The best time to buy is when you find the “perfect house” and can afford it.
Q: What is the best type of a mortgage?
A: There are lots of mortgage options available which is a great thing. The key is to explore your options and decide what makes the most sense financially. Each mortgage has its own combination of pros/cons with loans ranging from 15 to 30 years, some have $0 down payment others between 3% and 20% of purchase price.
Make A List
Q: I think I want a house what should I do now?
A: Before you start viewing homes or casually searching on the internet I suggest making a list of what your ideal home will be like. The list should include bedrooms, bathrooms, school district, commute times, etc. My hope is this list prevents you from getting overwhelmed once you see a house with a fireplace in the bedroom (which of course is a nice feature but not a necessity).
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
